I would like to acknowledge the European Community TMR program (for the funding of my PhD grant) and the UK Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food and the Scottish Executive Rural Affairs Department for financial support. Many thanks go to my PhD supervisors, Prof. Dr. Howard Davies and Dr Mark Taylor for their often very helpful scientific advise.

Urease in HOMSTRAD
HOMSTRAD (HOMologous STRucture Alignment Database) is a curated database of structure-based alignments for homologous protein families. The alpha subunits of ureases from Klebsialla aerogenes and Bacillus pasteurii are aligned. The structure-based alignment can be viewed in parallel to an alignment of other urease sequences for which structural data is not available. Links to the urease-relevant sites in PROSITE and PFAM are provided.

Klebsiella aerogenes urease home page
A page with lots of background information to urease and urease accessory proteins from Klebsiella aerogenes. Contains also a 3D model of urease (you need Chime plug-in).
